The listening mind is always in search of it, but relevance is a personal thing. To you, it may feel important to explain the principles upon which the company was founded. To them, it feels really important to know a few people and places to go to for help – to feel oriented.
New hires will politely sit through your company's founding story, but most won't internalize it. Don't overload them with what feels relevant to you. Help them to feel oriented because that is what is relevant to them.
