IMPROVE YOUR SPEAKING SWING

Exude a more powerful, engaging and authentic presence while presenting.

Three-Week Virtual Instructor-Led Program

In this 3-week program, we focus on learners’ speaking habit-pattern or swing, the source of their speaking presence. In weekly 2-hour workshop sessions, they learn which specific behaviors within their posture, sound, sentence pattern, alignment and movement make the impressions of confidence, engagement and authenticity on their listeners. In weekly Office Hours sessions, they receive direct, individualized coaching and observe others being coached as they wait their turn. In between the live sessions, Scott shares prompts, resources and encouragement in a dedicated, online activity feed.

Participants will learn to:

  • exude a more powerful speaking presence.

  • get rid of bad speaking tics and habits.

  • control speaking speed. Slow down.

  • control long-windedness. Be more concise.

  • be more authentic and conversational.

  • be more dynamic and engaging.

  • be more impromptu and spontaneous.

CONTENT

IMPROVE YOUR SPEAKING GAME

Learn a 10-step process for planning what you will say and show during a presentation.

Three-Week Virtual Instructor-Led Program

In this 3-week program, learners step through a confident content-development process as they apply it to a real world presentation scenario of their choosing. In weekly 2-hour workshop sessions, they learn how to create both a presentation plan and a slide-deck blueprint as we discuss foundation building, creative thinking, key messaging, flow and visual thinking. In weekly Office Hours sessions, they receive direct, individualized feedback on their specific content. In between the live sessions, Scott shares prompts, resources and encouragement in a dedicated, online activity feed.

Participants will learn to:

  • have a more confident, efficient and effective process for planning content.

  • take slides from central to secondary in their presentations.

  • create less academic/analytical and more engaging content.

  • craft content in a way that frees them to be impromptu and conversational.

STORY CRAFTING

Learn how to craft captivating and concise stories to share during a presentation.

Two-Week Virtual Instructor-Led Program

Being a masterful presenter means knowing how to transfer a valuable idea to listeners using story as the vehicle. In this 2-week program, participants learn how to find stories in and around them, how to get clear on the hero, problem and plot, how to develop a 6-10 sentence story spine and how to add lean muscle to it so that their final story is powerful and concise. They’ll do all of this using a personal story of their choosing. This program culminates with learners sharing their stories.

Participants will learn to:

  • use a process for finding and developing stories.

  • share more of their content through stories.

  • make their stories more captivating.

  • tell stories more concisely.

DESIGN

SLIDE BURST DESIGN

Learn to design simple, clear and memorable visual aids that build out in short sequences and then go away.

Two-Week Virtual Instructor-Led Program

In this 2-week program, participants step through a process for designing slides to be displayed in bursts – short sequences that come and then go away so that the audience can focus back on the speaker. They go through making a slide blueprint, quick-sketching ideas, creating a graphic and then deconstructing the graphic into builds, applying the process to both a diagram and a data display.  They’ll learn to minimize words and visual clutter while using color, size and space to guide their listeners’ eyes. They’ll leave with a new way of thinking about slides and with a design process that is fast for them and, most importantly, effective for their listeners.

Participants will learn to:

  • reduce the role of slides in their presentations.

  • have a more confident and efficient process for slide creation.

  • design slides to be more simple and visual.

  • be more creative in coming up with visuals.

  • make data and diagrams easier for listeners to ingest.

* Participants should be fairly proficient in their slide software - able to do things like group, reorder and align objects.
